This is the first car I ever owned. It is a 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T. This car was not for sale but I saw it on the street and wanted it so bad, I tempted the owner and he sold it to me.

This car was purchased bone stock. I had that teenager urge to build it into a race car. I ended up boring the 383 Magnum, .030 over, installed 12.5:1 compression Manley pistons, Competition cams solid lifter cam with 590 lift and 294 duration. Induction was through a Weiand intake manifold and was fed by a 750 Holley carb with vacuum actuated secondaries. I ported the heads, installed headers, tricked out the heads, beefed up the 727 Torqueflight tranny and installed a 10 inch TCI converter that had the fins reangled for higher stall. Rear gears were 4:57 ratio and it was all topped off with a Cheater series nitrous kit from NOS. I had a lot of fun with this car and it was a great influence on my adult life.
